Dark Blue

Glaring beams of light shone from the ship's twin lamps. The twin hulled Amarr Navy Slicer sat silent in space, the pilot simply sitting back and enjoying the view. The huge lava planet boiled below, ocean sized deposits of heavy metals twisting and re-forming as she watched. The words of a song suddenly popped into her head and she sang along quietly.

"Slow down..

this night's a perfect shade of

Dark blue, dark blue

Have you ever been alone in a crowded room, when I'm here with you

I said the world could be burning, burning down

Dark blue, dark blue

Have you ever been alone in a crowded room, well I'm here with you

I said the world could be burning, 'til there's nothing but dark blue..

Just dark blue"

Strange, I hadn't listened to that song for a while. I suppose it suits the scenery though, this world is certainly burning. The night looks pretty dark blue come to think of it. Strange what you see when you just stop and look.

She begins to frown

I'm probably feeling a bit guilty. I left my alliance mates at something of a hard time. But 0.0 wasn't as exciting as I had been led to believe. Sure I made a bit of money but it wasn't fun.

She remembers a comment from one of her fellow pilots, a very different person to her, and begins to laugh.

Shae Tiann is a pirate, a real one, negative sec status and everything. Her adventures are entertaining and I admit to reading her accounts of them in under a week. All 2 years worth of writing. One of her comments in her writing was a quite amazing piece of philosophy.

'There's all these people toiling away on planets to make ends meet, and they know that, way above them in space, there are these capsuleers who are fabulously rich and fly ships that can blow up moons. They seem so heroic and powerful to all those people stuck on the planets, and everyone wants to be those capsuleers, it's something to really aspire to.

'And then you look at the conversation between two of these massively powerful pilots and they're saying:
'You're gay!'
'No, you're gay!'
'Aw, yer mum!'...

Never is this kind conversation more common than among pilots of my profession and their, often less than willing, victims. I wonder what its all for. 340,000 gods and trillions of unknown, unseen people working in the background.

A console beeps

Well thats enough musing for now, it's time to go have another godly conversation. You never know, I may even find a guy with an imagination. Its always more fun when they are original.

Engines engaged she focuses back on her ship and activates the warp drive, quickly blasting out of sight of the burning world.

Nothing but dark blue......

( For anyone interested the song is dark blue by jack's mannequin. When you look around there are a huge number of songs with lyrics the fit eve almost perfectly)

  1. Lot of books out their to entertain us and provide a living for many. But there is book like no other so to have a life of peace develop a relationship with God who loves us and His son Jesus the Christ died for our sins so we would not have to pay the price. Check out book of John in the Bible. Life is short and eternity is forever...
